The rules for using Costr.
Last updated: May 21, 2026
Costr is a proxy and analytics layer for AI provider APIs. It records metadata about your API calls — token counts, costs, model, timestamp — and surfaces that data in a dashboard. Costr does not store prompt text or response bodies.
Using Costr means routing your AI API calls through costr.dev/api/proxy/<provider> (e.g. costr.dev/api/proxy/openai) instead of calling providers directly. Costr passes each request through and returns the provider's response unchanged.
You may not use Costr to:
Costr reserves the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
When you add an AI provider API key to Costr, you authorize Costr to use that key to forward your requests to the respective provider on your behalf.
Costr targets 99.9% monthly uptime for the proxy endpoint. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance via status page and email.
Downtime caused by upstream providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) does not count against Costr's uptime commitment.
Costr is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Costr is not liable for:
Costr's total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.
These terms may be updated. Material changes are announced by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
